Weather update
As expected the rain has moved forward into Saturday and Friday (75% Chance during the day on Friday).
Might be setting up in the rain.
Sunday is showing clear and sunny all day. That means dry canvas,
Bad news - 34 degrees Sunday morning.

Have not heard - sent a message to Sheryl and asked her.
I do not expect a "Yeah, we'll have tons of fire wood" reply so everybody who wants a fire might have to throw a few bundles in their ride.

As per the CO, wood for last year's event was provided by Darrell and Al.
Looks like if folks want a fire they'll have to bring a couple of bundles.
A fire draws reenactors like moths. And the moths don't bring wood to contribute.

Confirmed from Sheryl: No wood.
For all you who like to sit around the fire until the wee hours of the morning there will be no firewood on site. Best for each of you to bring 2 bundles of wood. One for Friday night and one for Saturday. Keep the one for Saturday night hidden or the moths will burn it all the first night.

I too brought firewood. I used it to cook over Sat for lunch. Hope to do the same this year, only it will be Sunday.

Reminder everyone - we are doing a garrison impression at this event - not two weeks in the line at the Battle of the Bulge.
If you need a haircut get it now.
Soldiers were required to shave every day - garrison or field. Show up shaved and you'll still need to shave at least sometime Saturday. I know the guys going to the dance will be up on this but it applies to everybody.

All hands - long range weather still calls for rain during the day on Saturday. 46% decreasing to 33% by 1900 hrs. Low Sunday morning is forecast to be around 34 degrees. Make preparations now. Plan on at least a change of dry underwear, socks and shirt to change into for sleeping. If you can get down to the store tomorrow get one of those cans of spray waterproofing for cloths. Give your jacket a couple of coats, heavy on the shoulders. Stinks, but it will go away in a couple of days. Got any left over give your pants a shot.
If you have thermals, even if they are civilian, but can be hidden by your white T Shirt wear them and pants if you have them at night.
You get some day glow orange peaking out be prepared to button your top collar.

The wash stand will be set up in a common area for unit personnel to shave and wash your face. Don't use it to brush your teeth. I don't want anyone spitting in my wash basin.
