Placeholder for planning purposes. Command will issue more details as event nears.
Per Jon Allison organizer.
"We have begun planning for the 4th annual:
Road To Rome
It will be Sept. 9-11 at Enfield N.C.
More details and registration information will be forthcoming soon, until then be prepared for some changes to the event. Hopefully, most will consider them positive for the long term good of the event though we acknowledge they might be difficult for some in the short term.
As many of you know we are a Generic event, not specifying a certain campaign so as more can attend the event, though we do specify Italian Front impressions. Typically we break down the different impressions into specific Zügs or Platoons that being said we still end up with quite a few impressions in one platoon. With the forthcoming event we will be picking specific units for each impression and each will have its own basic impression guideline. These are being done up at this time and will hopefully be posted within the next week. The goal is for each Züg or platoon to look like one coherent unit. Thus increasing not only the authenticity of the event but hopefully the ambiance and experience for the attendees.
Following is a list of the specific units we will be portraying: ( subject to change)
Event Staff: Herman Goering PZ. Division Feldgendarme Luftwaffe Helferin U.S Army Military Police U.S Woman's Army Corps
AXIS: Heer Infantry: 44th Infantry Division
Luftwaffe: Fallschirmjager Regt. 1 Herman Goering PzGr. Regt.
Waffen SS: 16th SS Division
Italian: RSI San Marco Marines
ALLIED: U.S Infantry: 6th Armored Infantry Regt. 3rd Infantry Division
U.S Airborne: 504th PIR
British Airborne: 6th Para BN. Royal Welch
As stated guidelines for these impressions should be posted within the week.
If you wish to attend the event and you have a impression totally not within the scope of these impressions please contact Jon Allison event Host and Organizer, we will find a place for you. Though we will need to approve your impression beforehand.
Also, the event will have general guidelines for attendence on haircuts, facial hair, Weapons, etc.
Once the guidelines have been listed registering for the event will be an agreement to follow said guidelines"
Thank you, Opa Johann
(Jon Allison)

Latest update on the event. From organizer:
General Information and Disclaimers:
4th Annaul Road To Rome
22960 N.C HWY 48 Enfield, N.C
DATES & TIMES: Begin: 1200 Friday September 9 End: 1200 Sunday September 11 Unit leaders and those traveling far distances can arrive anytime after 1400 Hours Thursday September 8 All attendess must check in at at the Registration tent in the German Garrison Camp upon arrival.
The emphasis on the event will be more on the life of the troops in the field though there will be "action". Upon arrival and after check in and set up in camp (if they choose to do so) attendees will be directed to their appropriate commands in the field. Where they can expect to work on field positions, setting mine fields, laying comms lines, patrols, security etc. The main focus of any fighting will be on Saturday. At this time any night action friday night will be determined by field conditions, and how many on site are ready to do so.
There will be a period correct Garrison Camp for both the Allied and Axis forces that will be out of play. Though, we are encouraging all that want to do so to stay in the field.
CAMPING: Fires are allowed as long as they are in a fire pit with a pile of earth and e tool nearby as a safety precaution. There will be portable toilets on site; All attendees / units are responsible for their own rations and water for the event. We will be planning a method for resupply in the field so be prepared for this as we prep the event. We recommend each attendee bring at least 1 gallon of water for each day they plan to be on site. All rations in the field must be in period correct packaging or at the least brown or wax paper.
DISCLAIMERS: By registering to attend The 4th Annual Road To Rome, you agree to abide by all Safety, Rules and Regulations for the event. (Avaliable upon request). You also acknowledge that you are attending the event in your own free will and risk for your safety and health and that you cannot hold the event organizers, staff, or property owner liable for any exposure to disease or accident which may occur. You also agree that you will abide by the event impression guidelines and personal grooming standards.
If within 24 hours before arrival you have any illness symptoms that cannot be accounted for (such as common cold etc.) or are exposed to a communicable disease, please do not attend the event. Think of your fellow reenactors and put their safety and that of their families first.
NOTES: You will be placed in a Platoon based upon your impression under an assigned Chain of Command. If you have a issue with this, this might not be the event for you.
The only weather event that can lead to the postponement of the event will be Hurricane or Flooding. Anything else, Rain, thuderstorms etc. the event is a go.
Impression guidelines and options will be listed on the Registration posting.
There will be mandatory briefing / formations for all attendees at a time to be determined. Though, we understand that some of you do not want to attend or even have a briefing we have found through experience that this makes the event go much smoother and more enjoyable for all who attend. Simply put, it makes sure that every one understands the scope and plan of the event. Any questions, concerns, or suggestions please bring to our attention.
Danke, Opa Johann

ON SITE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE: 0800 09/10/22 If you need to arrive & register after this time arrangements must be made with Event staff beforehand.
NOTES: Due to changes in the U.S Tax law starting in January of this year any funds received over the amount of $600.00 via Paypal must be reported to the IRS, thus they will send me a 1099 form and I would have to include this as income. Being as all funds received either go into the event (Landower fee, bush hogging, porta johns, limited liablity insurance for property damage, emergency medical supplies, props, smoke grenades, flares, etc.) , or used to purchase items for future events this is something that I cannot personally afford. WIth that being said, payment must be sent via FRIENDS & FAMILY. Any payments made via Goods and Services will be refunded and it will not be considered a registration.
In the future it is the plan of Suden Adler Events to form a non profit and a board but due to health and personal concerns I was not able to get it done in time for this event.
You also might have noticed a increase in the event fee, simply put this is due to the increased costs across the board for running the event. It is my hope with the next event as we build up more props that this amount can return to the before price or at the least remain the same. Thank you for your support and understanding>
We look forward to seeing you on the ROAD TO ROME!
Danke, Opa Johann

Myself and Elling will be there with Luck II (assuming gas doesn’t hit $10/gal then I may have to bow out) we will have limited rations to provide to troops in the field. As well as coffee/water. Don’t expect us for every meal though. Call us the Moral Mobile 😂
More information to follow of what exactly will be avail through the Biltmore.

Good deal Davenport.
We'll likely have a couple new troopers attending that will need to borrow shovels for digging so bring that extra one. Based on event information we'll be in defense so that means plenty of digging.
Bring your shovels.
Indicated attending:

Team, Are we thinking about running a small kitchen, if so i like to participate and help in the field mess for this event. I like to help run a small mess and we can even run out the rations with Beast Master being the Rear Command Vehicle.

Airborne Impression guidelines for Enfield:
Unreinforced M-1942 jump suit OR Unreinforced M-1942 jump jacket with wool pants OR M-1937 wool shirt and wool pants. All with 82nd airborne on shoulder.
If it happens to freakishly get cold…tanker jackets and tanker bibs were authorized.
Jumpboots no buckle boots
Cartridge belt or pistol belt with 2-3 rigger pouches for riflemen with M-1936 suspenders.
M-1910 T handle shovel.
Mussette bag.
No HBTs or HBT hats. Exception being rear echelon as non airborne.
NCOs with ranks on sleeves, officers had a mix of mostly rank on wool shirt collars and a few with shoulder rank on the 42s. (They were trying to keep officer rank subdued at Anzio). 504 didn’t wear rank on 42 collars.
Please let us know if you are short any gear. YOS, 2nd. Lt. Craver
