Troopers! Looking forward to seeing each of you at Road to Rome on 9-10 Sept. Please let Bruce or I know if you have any questions, need any gear, etc. Bring 2 gallons of water each and start hydrating asap in advance of Eastern NC heat. Thanks.

Greetings all. I will be attending the Road to Rome tactical as my first formal event with the Company.
Am planning on a Friday afternoon arrival. Will come equipped as an Airborne rifleman, and am looking to be "on the line" for the operation.
Look forward to the event, and to the opportunity to meet fellow Troopers there.
Jeff Jarkowsky ATW!

This one is closing in on us. Make sure you have COT or other appropriate sleeping gear for Friday night. All non period sleeping gear needs to be stored out of sight Saturday morning.
You should be equipped with web gear, helmet, weapon, blank ammo, snack foods (period authentic or repackage/wrap to appear authentic). Extra T shirt and socks, weapons cleaning kit/oil. Pencil/notepad
Period correct flashlight helpful.
Bring mess kit as limited meals will be served.
Additional items depend on weather, scarfs, jeep caps, gloves, sweater or M41 jacket.
Always bring emergency cash.
More to follow leading up to event.

Bruce, Are you getting there Friday evening? I have 2 bags of .30 cal Carbine. 50 rounds per bag. I think you said you have two recruits with carbines. I will give them to Bradd or Ricky. I also have 2 water containers, 11 gallons total. Also will pass along to Bradd or Ricky. Be safe guys.
Don't forget to inspect arms and review trigger control. Thanks to all our NCOs for picking up the slack for me and Chief.

Latest update per organizer.
You will attend the safety briefing and weapons inspection on Saturday morning. This is not an option.
General Information and Disclaimers:
4th Annaul Road To Rome
22960 N.C HWY 48 Enfield, N.C
DATES & TIMES: Begin: 1200 Friday September 9 End: 1200 Sunday September 11 Unit leaders and those traveling far distances can arrive anytime after 1400 Hours Thursday September 8 All attendess must check in at at the Registration tent in the German Garrison Camp upon arrival.
The emphasis on the event will be more on the life of the troops in the field though there will be "action". Upon arrival and after check in and set up in camp (if they choose to do so) attendees will be directed to their appropriate commands in the field. Where they can expect to work on field positions, setting mine fields, laying comms lines, patrols, security etc. The main focus of any fighting will be on Saturday. At this time any night action friday night will be determined by field conditions, and how many on site are ready to do so.
There will be a period correct Garrison Camp for both the Allied and Axis forces that will be out of play. Though, we are encouraging all that want to do so to stay in the field.
CAMPING: Fires are allowed as long as they are in a fire pit with a pile of earth and e tool nearby as a safety precaution. There will be portable toilets on site; All attendees / units are responsible for their own rations and water for the event. We will be planning a method for resupply in the field so be prepared for this as we prep the event. We recommend each attendee bring at least 1 gallon of water for each day they plan to be on site. All rations in the field must be in period correct packaging or at the least brown or wax paper.
DISCLAIMERS: By registering to attend The 4th Annual Road To Rome, you agree to abide by all Safety, Rules and Regulations for the event. (Avaliable upon request). You also acknowledge that you are attending the event in your own free will and risk for your safety and health and that you cannot hold the event organizers, staff, or property owner liable for any exposure to disease or accident which may occur. You also agree that you will abide by the event impression guidelines and personal grooming standards.
If within 24 hours before arrival you have any illness symptoms that cannot be accounted for (such as common cold etc.) or are exposed to a communicable disease, please do not attend the event. Think of your fellow reenactors and put their safety and that of their families first.
NOTES: You will be placed in a Platoon based upon your impression under an assigned Chain of Command. If you have a issue with this, this might not be the event for you.
The only weather event that can lead to the postponement of the event will be Hurricane or Flooding. Anything else, Rain, thuderstorms etc. the event is a go.
Impression guidelines and options will be listed on the Registration posting.
There will be mandatory briefing / formations for all attendees at a time to be determined. Though, we understand that some of you do not want to attend or even have a briefing we have found through experience that this makes the event go much smoother and more enjoyable for all who attend. Simply put, it makes sure that every one understands the scope and plan of the event. Any questions, concerns, or suggestions please bring to our attention.
Danke, Opa Johann

For those living in the field it would be wise to buy a bale of straw at your local hardware store to line your hole to keep it dry. Not from rainfall but wet ground from previous rainfall
