Below is the Warning Order for our second event of the year. Jamestown’s annual timeline event is absolutely incredible with comparative artillery firing demonstrations and very high quality units from the Greek hoplites of Alexander the Great up through Vietnam. 101 Recon as been invited to attend with 1 Para (British) to form the First Allied Airborne Army. Any C/505 memebers interested in attending as part of the 101 are welcome to contact us IMMEDIATELY as space is limited and registration is fast approaching. This is a judged event and we intend to help 1 Para win additional awards again this year.

Operations had Jamestown were a huge success. There were 34 units and 590 reenactors present for the event. Since we were portraying Operation Market, it was appropriate that plans went sideways from the first moment on-site. Despite that all personnel, British and American, worked hard and cooperated very well to pull it off successfully. In the end, First Allied Airborne Army fielded 21 people and 3 jeeps. We also setup a three rope bridge, 4 tents, a large fly for cooking and medical, weapons, communications, parachute displays, guard shack and various headquarters and personal equipment. 2375 paid guests were in attendance on Saturday and Sunday numbers were probably very similar. On Sunday afternoon, representatives of FAAA participated in the Pass in Review parade with MG Williams, commander of the Virginia National Guard as reviewing officer. MG Williams then presented the awards to the units. FAAA received the following unit awards: Foodways Cooking Competition - Modern Era (1900-present) - 2nd Place Best Unit Demonstration - Modern Era - 1st Place (British 3 inch mortar team with jeep) Best Overall Unit Impression - Modern Era - 3rd Place

Space in the pictures looked a tad cramped.
Were you restricted on space or had plenty of room to spread out in?
IIRC the Old Village is set up kinda' right, rear of the Visitor's Center and there is a large open area to the left by the parking lot. Is that the open area you were set up in?
