Good Morning troopers and 505th Command.
What a fabulous year to put behind us again. We still have a few last events to finish off the year and off to start another great year ahead of us.
Here is what we need to remember and to stay focus on our own personal mission. Why did you joined the hobby and what are you trying to get out from the hobby. Our Unit has a wide vase of wonderful impressions and you all continue to grow and build from each other. Some focus on living history and some focus on tacticals. Which ever fits your personal gains and interest do the best you can in that field. There are NCOs and JOEs I can count to be at every LIVING HISTORY EVENT and there are NCOs and JOEs I can count to be at every TACTICAL EVENT. That is what makes our UNIT so Diverse and Special. What we don't want to do is start criticizing each other because of the lack of interest in what others are doing or not doing. Negativity has no place in a hobby or team. One once can cause a huge ripple effect.
Here are some things that going to change, We are suppose to be reenacting a WW2 unit and yet we don't have ranks and structure from platoon sergeant down. That are/is changes as are reading this. Doesn't matter what hobby you are doing or are participating in, everyone needs a mentor or “battle buddy” what we call it in the big army. I never wanted 1SG to get into my NCO business, if I felt my JOEs needed training, I went and did SGT's TIME training with my JOEs. This is why RANK Structure is important even in a WW2 reenactment hobby. I will be sitting down with the Commander today and we will draw up a Unit Rank Structure.
1st Order of business of any Unit function should always be a FORMATIONS, before any tent stake or footlocker is unloaded, ans than those who wear rank do in-rank inspections and look over each other, before being viewed by the public.
Thank You all for another fabulous year.
