Updated units schedule for 2019
Feb 15-17, 2019
Waxhaw, NC - Museum of the Waxhaws. This is C/505 hosted event and will focus primarily on training although still a public event. Squad drill, weapons, tactics and medical training can all be expected. We will be supporting C/505.
March 15-17, 2019
Jamestown, VA - Military Thru The Ages. This is a judged event so we must be top notch for this event. We will be guests of 1 British Para. They have also invited 41 Armored Inf. I&R Platoon and together we will represent the three divisions of the First Allied Airborne Army preparing for Market.
May 17-19, 2019
Virginia Beach, VA - Warbirds Over the Beach. Combine with Army Air Corp, WACs, and other airborne units for Troop Carrier and FAAA. This is another Market event. Lot of details to be worked out but an original control tower, C-47s and a Flak 88 expected to play a role.
June 5-9, 2019
Bedford, VA - DDay75. Still planning and awaiting formal approval from town council. Camps, parade and street battle. Patterned after Toccoa but tailored to honor the veterans of the “Longest Day” and those who fell that day also. This is looking very probable at this point. Only Normandy will be a better place to be that weekend.
September 20-22, 2019 TENTATIVE DATE
Nokesville, VA - “Tank Farm”. Waiting on dates, but an event we should seriously consider doing this year. We have the possibility of setting up with a functioning M18 Hellcat tank destroyer. Focus would be on the defense of Bastogne when the 101 AB worked closely with M18 TDs to defend the town of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.
October 3-6, 2019
Toccoa, GA - Currahee Military Weekend. Annual trip to the training site of multiple parachute regiments.
Other events will be added to this list as they become available and after discussion among command staff and unit members.
