And so on this day 78 years ago my Dad was on a transport ship waiting for the 876th EAB to be put ashore. They would finally go ashore on D+3. Assigned to repair an airfield for P47s within 3 days.

I get the Airborne thing...obviously. But those guy's on the boats at Omaha the 16th and the 116th. Where do you get men like that? And if anyone thinks America can do it again in those numbers ..? I'm all ears.
