Joe, When we get 10 days out can you give us a possible weather report on Carthage? Doesn't have to be like 1st Sgt.s, just temps and humidity. Got a feeling we are in for 90s!
Thanks Joe!

Update Per Major Cachia.
Troopers of Charlie Company 505th PIR! Talked with American Legion Post 12 Commander in Carthage this morning. Here is a list of what is available for us: 1. Air conditioned area for breaks. 2. Full kitchen: stove, grill, 2 fridges. 3. Ice, water, burgers and hotdogs! 4. Bathrooms 5. Camo nets!
There will be several WW II Veterans on site! Post Commander will meet our Recon Squad on Friday between 0900 and 1000. We will NOT bring the Mess trailer to this event.
Mongo is willing to cook steaks you bring but there doesn't seem to be much interest in this to date. (Friday night) The Legion is checking with police and neighbors on us doing a weapons demo.
This is the most anyone has ever done for us! Will post this to our Forum too. Still want to come to this? Not too late, just let me know. Major Cachia

Everyone attending even though this should be a low physically event please have your Med Card UTD. The Chief has them if yours is lost. I will have a basic modern medical bag on site. I will also have both Repel Tick Defense for application to the skin and Permethrin for application to clothing and equipment. The Repel also works on mosquitos and most other critters.

Hey Joe, Can you update temps in Carthage on Wednesday evening.
Also men, we may do a 21 gun salute for two of their recently fallen Vets as well as our beloved 1st Sergeant. Not sure we have 7 M1s. I will let you know tomorrow.

I have an m1, it’s not blank adapted yet but for the rifle salute that shouldn’t matter? I think charging it each time is part of it?

505 PERSONNEL ATTENDING THE CARTHAGE AMERICAN LEGION EVENT, JUNE 18: Upon arrival at the legion event site report to the unit HQ and sign in on the unit roster. You will be issued two white name tapes that can be used to mark a musette bag, pack or they look good on coveralls. Pfc. Jelen and Pfc. Coyle, I will take your photo and issued your I. D. cards and any paperwork you don't already have. I will be bringing two shelter halves for sale. Excellent condition with poles and stakes. No holes, tears or fraying.

Troopers, Just talked with Phil Vandercook, Carthage Post Commander. Here is what we can expect.
1. Lunch Saturday from Food Truck plus desert. Free
2. Electricity available on site as is water.
3. They have tables for displays, and chairs.
4. Bottled water provided. Free
5. Camo nets, large event tent with barrel fans.
6. Two bands are scheduled. One plays contemporary/modern the other is a Bluegrass Band.
It is going to be great! No word on salute. Lets be ready just in case. Demo of weapons may just be show and tell.
That is all, Major Cachia
