Troopers,
I was listening to some troopers talk about our trailers recently. They, like many others in the unit, thought the trailers were owned by Troopers Hicks and Jenkins. This is not true. The trailers are registered to the Southern Piedmont Historical Reenactors Society and are the property of C/505th PIR. The troopers mentioned have been towing these trailers for years. We owe Louis Jenkins and Darrell Hicks our thanks for all their work with these trailers. We are looking for volunteers to help with both of these trailers.
Just thought you should know.

If we have the need to transport a trailer to an event I can certainly help as well.
Don't have long term storage ability though.

I know there was recently a discussion on the future of these trailers, unfortunately I was not able to attend the annual meeting in December due to work requirements. What was the final say on the mess trailer?

Aaron Gentle is hauling the big mess trailer. It holds all the equipment a Company Mess would require. This includes three m37 stoves that have been converted to propane. No other unit in our area has such a setup. Adam Gatlin has the smaller Company equipment trailer which he has reorganized and resupplied. At this point we have no backup troopers to haul these in the event Aaron or Adam can not attend an event.

Once I return home, I should be able to haul the small one depending on where they are stationed out of. I recall there was discussion of one the trailers containing a squad stove. Do we still have positive control over that? It could be extremely useful for the smaller events where a Company or Platoon sized mess is not needed. I know usually the smaller events and handled with Coleman camping stoves but its food for thought.
