The number 1 item for paratroopers is the jump boots. These iconic boots are made by many different companies now and sold thru many different vendors. All of the WW2 reproduction vendors sell them and because of their popularity are rarely out of stock. One of the manufacturers is Corcoran, the same company that made them during WW2 and using the original patterns. You can buy them directly from Corcoran or from any number of military, reenacting and boot vendors and you will get the exact same product. Currently the best deal on these is through workbootsusa.com. $152.99 is the current "discounted" price but appears to be their standard price. Additionally, a number of 10% off coupon codes are floating around including fb10 and staydry. This makes them $137.69 and shipping is FREE! $137.69 gets you a brand new pair of Corcoran's shipped directly to your door. The only "problem" is that they come with leather laces. See the 1SGT about this and what should be used in place of the leather laces. Link to the boots is here: www.workbootsusa.com/come10hilemi.html

an FYI I'll cross post to the forum. I had been tipped to the Enola Gaye smoke grenades and so found them on a party supply site as the cheapest option. I purchased the 90 second emit at $5.99 and deployed one at Toccoa. I was pleased with the output. My concern was balanced between "theatrics" and realism but not adversely affecting the public's ability to see the battle. I felt that size fit the bill for sure. For purely tactical reasons I would want more volume of course, but all in all I was pleased with it. I've even started carrying a white HP40 in my bail out bag at work.
The EG18 and EG18X produce the same volume of smoke but the EG18 emits it in half the time so more smoke, faster. These would likely be more practical for field tactical events.

Another good source of information including a sales thread, from which I've picked up a variety of WWII and other era pieces over the past few years. www.usmilitariaforum.com

Can't believe I almost forgot to provide a link to Greig Donnelly's website FrontLine Crates Co. Greig is a member of 101st Recon and just a great guy. His disguised VAT 69 coolers are the bomb and certainly on my Christmas list this year. www.frontlinecrates.com/
