We can put it out on FB to see if anyone wants to do the presentations and on which weapon.
The individuals assigned the Garand and 03 can fire the cheaper 308 DAG ammo.
Otherwise individuals can volunteer to bring and demo others weapons.

We are two weeks out from the Denton Military Vehicle Show. SOP sign in on the unit roster when you arrive. You will be given a sheet of Infantry hand signals that will be used for training for tactical events. Bring your pay book, if you were issued one, and turn it in to me. You will be reissued an updated copy before you leave the event.

No takers on weapons firing so I will tell Tommy we have other plans. No blanks needed for this event then. Bradd has mentioned to the other XOs about the possibility of 505th, 504th and 508th doing some tactical operations on site.
Our Press Rep, Wayne Swiers, continues to improve but will know more after his April 12th doctors meeting. This will determine if he will attend Denton. I have advised him to skip Denton and get stronger for AA Week May 23-26. He is in a delicate state and will be very limited in what he can do at Denton but he misses you bums badly. Sending prayers.

Troopers,
I have contacted Tommy McLendon with final list. Told him we are going to concentrate on recruiting, displays and patrol and, or, squad tactics along with 504 and 508.
Don't forget the Mess will consist of only one breakfast, Saturday morning and Dinner Saturday night. Vendors were very reasonable last time and close bye.
Looks like we are coming up on a warm period. Your m42s are your lightest uniform. At setting up camp I will be on site by 1030-1100 and we will set up a string line to guide our Wall Tent line. Those that have flies bring them. We will put a fly out front of each wall tent. Pup Tent area will be designated.
Coffee will be available. We already have a case of water. Bring a gallon for your own use. I will bring some soda and Gatorade and more water.
We are not collecting money for this weekends food. Vendors base price is $5.00.
DO NOT BRING AMMO! I will be taking Ammo Orders at Denton.
Don't forget All American Week is 23-26 May! I will start making a list of those troopers coming and what days.

Unfortunately I will not make it to Denton this year. My back issues are improving but I have additional tests and potential treatment procedures coming up. Despite the improvement I've experienced I'm still restricted in what I can do physically and the activities of a tactical or living history are simply beyond my capabilities at this time.
I'm missing seeing you guys and my time in the field and at LH presentations but as is said, "Discretion is the better part." In my case that means giving up some events now so I can return in good shape, ready to do what I need to do in the future.

Sorry to hear that Wayne. Ask one that suffers with back problems I can certainly understand the need to take time and figure out a solution. We've missed seeing you at events but you'll be back in the ranks before you know it.

505th troopers, sign in upon arrival at Denton this weekend at the company CP. Bring your pay book and turn it in to me for an updated version. Each trooper will be issued handouts for training.

Troopers,
Let me stress a couple of things that have been on my mind!
1. Denton is a recruiting event!
2. Chief and I are doing Saturday Breakfast and Dinner! That is all. We have other duties which do not deal with cooking at Living Histories.
Chief has administrative duties which no other unit even comes close to in authenticity.
I taught for 40 years so living histories are my thing and I do this to honor my father who did D-Day plus 3.
3. Some of us need help due to age limitations. I try not to "order" but lately I see people standing around while setup is in progress.
4. Unit Break Down is just that. The whole unit should participate in this just like setup.
5. For this event bring: Mess Kit, Canteen, Web gear, weapon, helmet, 1 gallon of water, m42s, snacks (for yourself), money for vendor food, sun screen, bug repellent, garrison cap or patrol cap, Jump boots (Shined).
6. Be prepared to do some squad tactics or "Patrols" for the crowd. No blanks necessary.
7. Finally, we are a unit. Lets showcase that! H-Minus!

Gates open at 0900. Gates close at 1700.
Would like to assembly a squad, battle ready, to visit vehicle row and go down to MG row.
