Today Adam, Chief and myself went to Jim and Janet's house in Fayetteville to inventory and pick up supplies from Jim's shed and garage. Janet is holding up well. We brought pizza and flowers so as not to impose too much on the daughter and grandchildren that are staying with Janet. It was a sad exercise men. Jim's shed revealed 20 projects in progress. Chief and I wrote down 5 pages of equipment specific to WW II. We did not touch his uniforms or an extensive Civil War collection. As it was it took all of 2 hours to record just the Shed's contents. We did not catalog his weapons collection either. That would require Ralph McCall to look each one over.
Our intent is to prepare the list, have the son-in-laws look it over and take what they want, then post the "to purchase list" to the unit. It is possible one or both of the son-in-laws may want to join us some day.
Truly guys, when you see all the things he was working on it tells you how totally involved Jim was in every aspect of this hobby.
I'm sure he wants all this stuff to be utilized by the unit.
Stay tuned men!

Thank you guys for doing this. I'll hope to own just a piece of his collection to add to my museum.

Man, hearing this just guts me.
I can think of no better group of people to house and care for Top's collection and items than C/505. Thank you guys, sincerely for doing this.

Thank you guys. Not only do I look forward to seeing his WWII collection but also being a fellow Civil War Reenactor (since 1998) I'd be honored to see that collection one day.
