Been a tough week for Charlie Company, 505th PIR.
I was extremely pleased to see all of you at both the viewing and the cemetery. You can not imagine how thankful the entire Peterson family was with our presence.
Those of you that could not make one or both of the above should not feel bad. As you know, the Enfield Tactical is to be dedicated to honoring Jim.
I apologize for not sticking around longer after the ceremony. As I said, its been tough.
As each of us deals with this tremendous lose know that we will honor Jim at all events.
Take care y'all. See you on the ground.

Troopers,
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the passing of Jim. I truly will miss his friendship, instruction, wit and personality. Jeremy and I were able to speak to Janet after the service and she was overwhelmed by the support from Jim's extended family. She said that he LOVED being with us and it was a very important part of his life. No greater compliment in my mind is for someone to dedicate their precious time to spend with each of you and the collective group. I am blessed and my life enriched by knowing men like Jim. I am equally blessed to call each of you friend.....I do suspect that Jim would be insisting we Carry On! Cherish each moment we have when we are together, look after each other, and recall fondly the memories and strive to create some new ones as we Carry On..

Jim is at rest in the arms of a loving God. Slow salute.

He will always be part of us and this unit. He was more than just Jim, or First Sgt. He was Top. And he always will be.
