Monroe Airshow Nov. 10, 11
Crew arrived Thursday afternoon for set up. Kitchen was assembled over Thursday evening and Friday morning.
First Sgt Peterson arrived early Friday morning and we finished assembly of the mess.
We also errected a second fly. Two personnel tents were errected Thursday evening, and we began preparation of first meal Friday at 15:00 hrs.
Personnel-SSGT Jenkins, T4s Philbeck and Early, and T5 Smith. Chief W/O Meyer also assisted with cooking.
Meals-meals followed the menu with only an exception to Saturday's evening meal. Rice was substituted for potatoes.
Kitchen Police- was conducted without difficulty. Water was changed out once in the immersion heaters. Thanks to all you guys for cleaning up.
Weather-Mudroe was in full force Thursday evening and Friday. Fortunately Allen Armentrout picked up some pallets at a hardwear store. This helped the cooks stay out of the mud at least part of the time. Saturday and Sunday were clear and cool.
Load up Sunday- everyone pitched in for load up Sunday, which was extremely appreciated.
Problems-yours truly burnt one batch of biscuits, and the next batch didn't rise. Will try to do better next event. Another problem occurred during the load up. Packed all the wrenches and needed one to reconfigure the oven for Sunday's lunch. This problem caused a delay in serving lunch.
This was the last event of the year for the kitchen. Many thanks for everyone's help. We will try to make next year a better performance.
