Hello 505 PIR Mess Section,
My wife and I had a nice time meeting you at Cedarrock Park in Burlington a few weeks ago. We're interested in membership- my wife wants to do WAC and I'm looking for a non-combatant role. So after looking at the different impressions your unit does, mess section sounded good to me, although I'm open to suggestions e.g. medic... Thanks!

Welcome. Medic is a great impression. It's pretty physical if you do it right and it needs a lot of research. Mess is not non combatant just not primary job. Our cooks spend time in the field with rifles on tacticals. We could use field medics. I do Medic but at my age and condition I don't make enough events. P/M me I'd be glad to help you develop a Medic role.

Dear Mr. Neil:
Would like for you to entertain the cooking side of re-enacting. I did not bring the full kitchen to Cedar Rock Park. While Medic is an important part of the effort, cooking is also very important. At living histories we generally put forth our best foot. At Fort Bragg at the end of Aug I plan on serving ten meals all, with the exception of lunches, home cooked.
So if you would like to work, not impersonate, I’d suggest an attempt to cook. Making sure you have the foodstuffs for each meal, preparing a menu, and looking to clean up the post meal mess, is challenging. No glory in the kitchen.

Hey Drew, Frank Cachia here. Current CO of Charlie Company. I have a wealth of uniforms and even some boots, if you would like to join us at Bragg. I know the cook staff would be eager to have you with them. Let me know what you think Drew. WAC's are always welcome!
