101st Airborne Division Reconnaissance Platoon (101 Recon) has been redesignated 101st Airborne Division Headquarters (101 HQ). This change was made recently to reflect the growth and develop our unit has experienced this past year. Division Recon remains part of what we do as does Division Artillery (DivArty) and medical (326th AB Med. Company). Based on an event and personnel we have the capability to portray one or all of those aspects of our unit plus parachute/glider infantry, MPs and other attached units/personnel.
The change in designation does not change our rank structure either with the highest permanent rank being Captain (Recon CO, Medical Officer, or Company CO). Nurses will of course carry the rank of 2nd Lt., while enlisted personnel can fill all grades found within a company sized unit.
