The CC2 uniform look is correct for the 42R used on D Day.
Eric used the Deck Sealer with a top coat of Canvac, I used straight Otter Wax and Bruce used Vaseline with powder dusting.
All give a good reproductive look to the uniforms.
Eric and I wore ours all day both days up at Ike's Farm this past weekend in temps over 90 degrees - 20 degrees higher that at the end of the real D Day.. The uniforms are heavy with the extra coats, don't breath at all and pretty much let the sweat run down the inside of your cloths. Eric had let his uniform dry for weeks before he put on the top coat and he didn't have any discomfort to his skin.
I would suggest that if you want to go for "the look" try and find a run down second hand pair of 42R's and coat them. Use them when your goal is an accurate D Day Impression and wear your better uniform the rest of the time.
This winter I will be doing my second set of 42R's with a Vaseline/Otter Wax mix and will report back.

I have a similar experience with the Otter Wax Vaseline treatment. Adds a fair amount of weight to the uniform and makes it not breath. (Otter Wax is a fabric water proofing). No need for white powder residue as the Otter Wax tends to create that look naturally especially where the uniform bends and creases. Mine need a slightly heavier coat of the Otter Wax to improve the overall look.
