This is the event thread for the Hell's Highway Invitation immersion event at Enfield, NC in November.
The 504th is hosting the event. The impression is 505th PIR (our Regiment) during the Market Garden Jump and next few days. That means 43's and standard Infantry impression. They will allow Airborne and Glider impressions.
Rank will be based on position.
This will be a 24 hour tactical - 1700 Friday to 1700 Saturday. What you carry for the 24 hours will be standard Infantry kit and maybe a blanket rolled up in a shelter half on top of the Musette Bag.
You can drag your good stuff out of your car at Endex, build a fire and hang with your friends Saturday night.
I would at least like to field a full 12 man squad for this. If more sign on maybe 2 squads.
I'm in.

When the Lt comes back from the grave we'll get somebody to post the FB link to the event here.

Sounds like it has potential for a good event. The Facebook link hits a dead end for me 1st Sgt.
If we can push the date out for time off would be good.

1 Nov - 3 Nov
The tactical is from 1700 hrs Friday to 1700 hrs Saturday. No down time which will mean night time security and maybe patrols.
Infantry squad (or larger if we get it) on the line for 24 hours. No kitchen, tents, etc. which means your standard kit plus a shelter half and blanket rolled up on your musette bag.
At 1700 Saturday you can drag stuff from your cars and be comfortable and hang. We get a few staying over night they can bring a bundle of firewood each and we can have a nice little camp.
Everybody off site by 1400 hrs on Sunday.

Uniform update
As stated - Primary impression is 43's, jump or buckle boots, standard Infantry gear with shelter half/blanket roll on the musette bag, E tool and helmet.
NO painted helmets. If you have a painted helmet either repaint it, borrow an unpainted one or get another metal shell.
Un-reenforced 42's are reluctantly accepted. No reenforced 42's.

Guys, we have plenty of time to get ready for this.
If you are short a piece of equipment you'll have plenty of time to either borrow it or buy it?
If you don't have an M1 Garand you have plenty of time to find one of the older guys who are not going and borrow one.
You have plenty of time to order - or have a group order - for ammo.
You have plenty of time to order or make your own K Rations.
Does somebody in the unit have a working BAR and will they bring it - or allow it to be borrowed for the event? Or two if we go as two squads?

Monroe is an interesting subject. The event organizers were carping on us about our footprint last year and that they would only give us so much ground but in the end gave us what we wanted.
The airport has plans to build a structure in the area we use to set up. The airport will not push the helicopters further down the side of the taxi way to give us more room. That means the reenactors will be cramped.
We asked the event coordinator at the event last year about space for this year. We have not yet gotten a response about our space concerns.
We will not do the back and forth dance with them this year over space. They know the area our full display takes up. They either give us the requested space up front or we focus on something else. We are not going to call an event a Max Effort when we have to limit troops and the amount of canvas we can set up.
