Waxhaw, Feb 14, 15, 16, And 17.
Everything was great!
Kitchen personnel, Philbeck T 4, Smith T5, and staff Sgt Jenkins reported at 15:00 hrs Thur. 1st Sgt Peterson was on site, and we began assembly of the camp. That required two hours, and T5 Smith set his bunk in with the 1st Sgt.
Equipment-essentially nothing was left out. Ralph was unwell but he showed up long enough to furnish a deep fryer. We had electricity, running water, and a refrigerator. Electrical lights available all night, port-o-johns, and hand washing station.
Meals-Friday night meal was a success. Sat night steak night was very good. Since plans were made to leave early Sun the breakfast menu was changed.
Pack up- went smoothly, everyone pitched in to load up. Pulling out my vehicle was no problem.
Weather-rained hard Friday night and a significant part of Sat. As a result the soil turned into mud, except for the mess area which camped on gravel.
Critique-due to weather attendance was down and the kitchen lost money. Next event we are cutting back on the quality of the meals. One pot meals may be employed until attendance picks back up.
The possibility of a kitchen trailer is drawing closer. We envision an aluminum cover, a drop down tail gate, side door, dual axle, and brakes. Funds are getting near the purchase price.
Thanks to everyone who pitched in and helped out, including those who did KP duty, and Doc who helped cook one of the meals plus started the immersion heaters a time or two. Thanks to Ronnie and Mongo, our cooks.
Once you go Waxhaw you never go backsaw!

We are at or near the purchase of a trailer. Ramp rear door and side door, dual axles, and brakes are a must. Over head light would be great. Have found a couple of trailers that foot the bill, but between Capt. Cachia and I we are going to keep looking. Have found a six x twelve in Inman, SC, and one in Douglas, Ga. If anyone has a line on one that fits the description let Frank or me know.
