Pre D-Day! 42Rs - Daniel usually sets up Eurika, you with your jeep, Bruce-parachute man, CP, Medical setup, Engineer setup, Weapons display and I would like to do a uniform display: 3 types Jump suits, chem treated, Class As, Field Jackets, all the different headgear. Footwear. Mess.
All of our vehicles need to be registered for ribbons and Best in Show!

Chief and I will handle the coffee for Denton.
I am pleased to announce the return of Mongo for Denton. He will instruct us on the operation of the m37 stoves and in his capacity as Steak Chef he will be cooking steaks Saturday night for those in attendance. Of course you must bring your own steak.
Wayne is going to do his French Toast with Sausage. Mongo and I will assist him. This is a laid back event with gun show, car parts and machine gun shoot plus helicopters.
I must admit the church group closest to our tents made some excellent Bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. We will probably support them one morning.
Will be posting a menu by Wednesday, 4/5/23.
As of this post not many troopers are signed up.
Don't forget I need who is attending by 4/14 men!

Menu; Snacks will be available Friday night.
Saturday Morning: French toast, Sausage, coffee Sunday Morning: Scrambled eggs and Spam/ or vendor sandwiches ($6.00).
Noon: Hotdogs, Chips Noon: Sandwiches, Meats and Cheese
Supper: Steaks, Beans a la Mongo, garlic bread
Drinks: Water, coffee or bring your own. Bring your mess kits. We have some mess trays for those without kits. BRING A STEAK.
Mess Fee: $15 flat fee for whole weekend! To be paid on site at CP! Chief Meyer will check you in and collect the Mess Fee.

How do we register vehicles? Do we do that once at the event? Also just reminder I will have a wall tent as well.
When you enter Ben register your vehicle for Military Vehicle Show awards I counted your tent in the 7.

Info for the weekend at Denton!
Talked to Tommy McLendon this AM.
There are at least 60 Airborne, 504, 505 and 508, plus 1st ID, coming to Denton this Friday-Sunday!
We have been given our old spot. The static helicopters will not be in attendance so Gerty will take their place.
150 ft. frontage has been allotted to us.
I assume 508th will be next to us.
On the weather front there is good news/bad news. 60% chance of rain Saturday/Helicopters will not be flying.
Chef Mongo, Wayne and I, with assists from Chief, Aaron and Adam have put together some great meals.
Bring extra socks, 5 button sweater, extra boots if you have some, extra jump pants, again if you have them.
Entering the Park. With over 70 reenactors there is no way all those cars will fit right by our tents. We have been given a limited number of parking passes. It will have to be on a first come bases. All of your names are on our roster at the gate.
When asked about late arrivals he seemed unsure how that would work because the Gate Workers will leave at 1800. Call my cell phone (336-399-2699) if there is a problem. I have the unit packet with wrist bands and an unknown number of parking passes. Cars without parking passes will need to park in another area set aside for this purpose. Our jeeps can help with transporting troopers to the parking area.
Chief and I will get on site by 0900 to stake out our area.

ATTENTION 505 TROOPERS: Due to the large number of personnel eating out of the mess, including from other units, meal tickets will be issued to those eating from the mess at Denton. Two concerns I have had for a long time that I am addressing here is the Company HQ. (1) After hours there will be no partying in the HQ. Every event I end up picking up beer cans and bottles left from the night before. I have asked that people clean up after themselves but it doesn't happen. Find another fly or tent to hang out in, there are plenty around. (2) The HQ is a display of the administrative side of the unit just as much as weapons or vehicles. It is not a lounge. Do not invite visitors into the HQ to hang out and talk. If you need shade, there are plenty of trees. It is a display and work area unique to the 505. It needs to be clear and uncluttered.
