Get registered and sound off here if you haven't confirmed attendance.
At this point we have no formal mess support so expect to carry and prep your own food. We are in contact with other units to potentially piggyback off their mess unit.
M43 uniform primary with M42rs allowed. Be sure to layer with wool shirt or sweater. M41 Jacket accepted as well.

Troopers! Ben, Dan and I are getting together Sunday afternoon to transfer my crew served weapons to add to our TO&E for WAR. As we agreed at our annual meeting at Ft. Smith, we will be supporting other rifle squads in tactical events with our assets and our squad leaders will work with the allied commander or his designee on where and how these assets are utilized. Reminder, our weapons, our crews. Dan is very familiar with the mortars. Ben and Scott have run the 50 cal. I am entrusting my weapons for WAR into their capable hands including who crews the guns, safety, training, etc. While you will be fighting the Axis I will be commemorating the 79th Anniversary of the Anzio-Nettuno landing with a plaque dedication for the the 1st AD. More Op Ords to come for WAR but just wanted to give you a briefing. Happy New Year!!
1st. Lt. B. Craver

OK troopers, we’re about two weeks out from this event. Now would be the time to start sounding off if you need any weapons, gear, uniforms, anything you might need to be out in the field with that you don’t currently have sound off. I have all sorts of extra gear to loan out if you need it.

This is that event that you want extra gear. Read over winter in the field and think about how you yourself can be as self sufficient as the American soldier

Troopers,
Enfield is right around the corner, 20-22 January! 1st Sgt. Gatlin is going to do meals for y'all. He is copying one of Louis's menus as a guide. I assume you will pay on site for hot meals. We used to charge $5.00 per meal but as eggs are now $5.00 a dozen I am not sure. This is to be determined after he goes shopping. We need to know two things from y'all: 1) Do you plan to eat in our mess? 4 meals, 2 breakfasts, lunch, supper. YES, Which meals. NO Meals! 2) Are you staying for Sunday breakfast? YES or NO
Wishing I could be with you guys.

DO NOT RESEND THIS TO FACEBOOK>
Ok Gents a few things to discuss before this event coming up. While tacticals are cool and fun to portray and reenact. There is more to the fight than just getting into the woods or in a fox hole and shooting off rounds. I am going to keep this simple and very easy to understand. There are a few things to consider besides beans, bullets, bandages, and water. CLOTHING is a must for these cold weather events. We will discuss this. Make sure you have plenty of layers even if you DO NOT use them. We all have assigned roles that we are all reenacting and portraying. My focus for this event is going to be on the NCOS and the NCOS its going to be on you to inspect your Joe's before moving out into the woods. Everyone going to Check in with the CP and do a little back briefing before moving out, if your going to sleep out on the lines. (If your a shit sandwich and don't got you stuff together, your NOT sleeping on the line. You will be in the rear with the gear), (heaters). Not going to have any one freeze or complain about possible frost bite.
DONT EXPECT, WHAT YOU DON"T INSPECT.
I will bring extra cold weather layers to be signed out if needed.
Every NCO or Leader will report to CP for Command Brief (this can be done after you are set up or before, doesn't matter, must check in). Every squad or small group will have some form of communication in the field (NO EXCEPTIONS). NCOs and leaders will relay daily reports back to the CP. For an example of a report. The reports will be simple, color base reports. (GREEN, RED, BLACK).
GREEN- Plenty good to go RED- Running low, (need to call for supplies) BLACK- OUT, NOT GOOD (NEED BACK UP AND RESUPPLY ASAP)
Status Report: Beans- Green Bullets- Green Bandages- Green Water-Green
SPOT/SALUTE Report: Size: Activity: Location: Unit/Uniform: Time: Equipment:
SITREP: When: Where: What is it: What is it doing: what are you doing about it:
LACE: Liquid: (water, fuel, etc.) Ammo: Casualty: Equipment:
We will discuss more about these reports during our briefing when to use which one during an issue, engagement, accident, etc....
Thank you all for reading, hit the like tab so i know you have read this.
C/505th 1st SGT Gatlin Reenacting
Field mess and menu is being drafted and reviewed.

From the event Coordinator;
RULES AND SAFETY REGULATIONS
1)GENERAL:
a) Safety is the prime consideration for all participants during reenactments. It is the responsibilities of all participants to indentify and correct safety hazards. At any time, a situation is unsafe, call for a cease-fire. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the event for any infractions of safety rules no matter how trivial. The Event Staff has the final say on all safety issues.
b) No one under the age of 18 shall participate as a combatant in the event unless accompnaied by a parent/ guardian or have written permission from parent / guardian with contact number and email prior to the start of the event.
c) Everyone will be briefed on safety rules and your weapon and blank ammo will be inspected before the battle.
d) Each participant must read and understand these rules. If you have questions, please contact the Event Staff. By signing the Registration forms, you agree to abide by all event rules.
2) WEAPONS:
a) All weapons must function safely and must be inspected. Blank firing adapters must be securely fastened to the weapon.
b) The use of fixed bayonets is EXPRESSELY forbidden.
c) No direct fire shall be permitted within twenty (20) feet of anyone. Make sure that the area in front of you is clear. Watch for those hiding in cover.
d) No knifes, bayonets, shovels, or edged weapons will be allowed during the tactical unless being used specifically as a tool, but must be sheathed upon engagements with the opposition.
e) ALL ATF RULES APPLY!
3) AMMUNITION:
a) All blanks will be inspected.
b) NO LIVE AMMO is allowed at the event, if you have a firearm for work, i.e. police or a concealed carry permit it must stay in your vehichle. Anyone found with live munitions on the field will be removed from the event and excorted from the site.
4) VEHICHLES:
a) A licened and insured drive must drive all motor vehichles paricipating in the event.
b) All vehichles must have at least one ground guide when operating off the road to avoid personnel hiding in the surrounding foliage.
c) After unloading ALL POV's must be parked in designated parking areas. No one will be allowed to park near the assembly area.
d) Vehichles cannot exceed 5MPH anywhere on the field.
5) PYROTECHNIC DEVICES:
a) Pyrotechnic devices are allowed depending upon field conditions, but must be approved by the event staff.
b) Please contact the Event Staff if you have any questions about pyro.
6) CONDUCT:
a) Hand to hand combat is not authorized.
b) Refusal to obey the orders of the Event staff will result in ejection from the event and removal from the property under the threat of trespassing charges.
c) Anyone who performs an intentionaly dangerous act that causes or could have caused serious injuries to others or himself / herself will be removed form the event.
d) Although it may not give rise to a safety hazard per se, the integrity of an event depends in large measure upon the conduct of the participants and their good faith efforts to abide by the rules of engagement. Accordingly, any paricipant who willfully violates the rules of engagement or who by an uncooperative or argumentative attitude detracts from the safey and authenticity of the event shall be subject to removal from the event.
e) Alcoholic beverages shall be kept to a minimum. Be respectful of others. You must be 21, it is the law!
f) Under no circumstances will anyone violate Local, State and / or Federal Laws. Possesion of illegal drugs will result in immediate removal from the event.
g) Leave the property and site better than you found it. Clean up after yourself and others; otherwise, we may not be welcome back.
h) NO "FREE-LANCING" is allowed. At all times participants must have at least one battle buddy with them while on the property. This is for tactical control as well as safety. We do not want anyone operating alone where they migh be injured and no one would be able to assist them.
i) Command personnel on both sides are in charge of tactical and other event operations. Jon Allison is overall event coordinator and Safey Officer for the event.
k) Every reenactor is expected to act accordingly and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects dignity upon their impression. Participants will recognize the ranks and pay proper respect to that rank. However, if anyone abuses that rank, then paricipants need to bring it to the attention of the Event Staff.
l) Wound Card: We will be using the same wound card system as in previous events. 1. Lightly Wounded 2. Severly Wounded 3. Killed In Action Cards shall be issued upon checking in and will be kept on your person at all times. Replacements will be issued as necessary. 1. Evacuation: Whether a casualty requires evacuation is determined by the card they receive. Lightly wounded does not require evacuation. Severly Wounded requires evacuation to the aid station, but may walk there if a vehichle is not available. m) REAL EMERGENCIES: As always, the code for a real emergency if "CORPSMAN!". This signals an automatic cease fire. Each command shall be issued airhorns for use in signaling a real emergency. In the event of a real emergency, EMTs and First Responders will be called for treatment and they will follow the event EMERGENCY PLAN.
n) POWs: POWs may be taken, captured wounded or surrendering forces. Captured forces will only remain POWs for 15 min. and then released back to their units (unless a preplanned prisoner exchane is in process). All POWs will SIMULATE their weapons being taken and will then unload them and slung barrel facing down. All POWs will be asked for permision to be searched. If they opt out of being searched they must voluntarily surrender any documentation or contraband and weapons. There will be absolutely no torture, hitting, binding, or mistreatment of prisoners. Also, no prisoner is to be placed upon their knees, this is World War II not the Global War On Terror. In addition, NO EXECUTIONS. Anyone caught will be subject to removal from the field. 7) OTHER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: a) Water: All participants are encouraged to bring at least three jugs (gallon) of water and avoid individual serving bottles to keep down the plastic trash.
b) Helmets are highly recommended to be worn in all tactical areas during active missions and action.
c) Participants are encouraged to wear ear protection.
d) Be vigilant against exposure related illness, drink plenty of fluids and keep an eye on other participants for heat related problems, hypothermia and frost bite. Notify the event staff immediately if any exposure related problems are suspected.
e) Reenacting is a strenuous hobby not recommended for those with physical conditions that limit this type of activity. If a member has a heart conditon or other ailment that may stop him or her from paricipating the member should consult a doctor before coming to the event.
f) Members are responsible for verifying their own health. The individual agrees to assume all personal risk and liability for his actions by participating in the event.
g) Most of all use common sense. Do not put yourself in danger by doing unwise things. Be aware of who is around you when discharging blank ammunition. Do not attempt to traverse terrain that is dangerous. SAFETY COMES FIRST!
8) MILITARIA VENDORS: Militaria vendors are welcome. We ask that you set up your non period tent, fly or ground cloth near the parking area. We do this to ensure the ambiance of the Garrison Camp site and not have the distractions of vehichles or civilian camping gear just outside of camp.
9) WATER / FOOD: Potable water or food will not be provided by the event. It is the responsility of the participant to provide their own water and food.
10) FACILITIES: The event will provide portajohns near the parking areas.
11) WILDLIFE: Participants are highly encouraged to bring bug spray and to check themselves for ticks. (This is North Carolina for our non Tarheel guests- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme Disease are a real risk). Avoid interactions with local wildlife especially snakes as there are poisonous species in the area and also Cyotes.
12) DISCLAIMER: By registering for and attending this event you agree that you are participating at your own risk. It is the participant's responsibility to be ware of their surroundings at all times. There is trash, metal, debris on site as well as overgrown pre dug positions. The stability of any buildings on site are not garuanteed by the Event Staff or property owner.
13)CAMPING: a) Camping will take place in the designated camping area for both Axis and Allied units. The campsite is out of bounds and will not be part of the tactical battle. Participats are welcome to immersion camp in the field if they so wish.
b) Fires are authorized at the discretion of the event organizer and Safety Officer, and must be approved beforehand. If approved they must be in a fire pit at least 10 feet from a tent or the tree line. Fires must be accompanied at all times.

Gentlemen,
I think I'm tracking on all for this tactical. I'm registered for the event, and have reviewed the uniform/gear/supply info, and the event rules/safety guidance. Will be prepared to rest overnight on the line or in bivouac Friday night. I'll be there Friday and Saturday - when is the desired/best time to arrive on Friday for our element?
Put me down for all meals, although I may only eat a couple. I will send my $25 to Kevin shortly.
Looking forward to it.

Roger that Airborne. I think most are arriving Friday between 2-5pm. We'll have a more established 505 bivouac area for the overnights.
