Unless something small pops up between now and then - this is our next event.
It is "THE" major push event for the unit this year. All hands that can be need to find a way to be here for at least one day.
Set up is on Sunday the 29th. Main display days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We pack up as much as we can Wednesday evening. Thursday is Jump Day out at Sicily DZ so we pack up that day and most of us go home.

Any troops from our sister units planning on coming?
Need names and the days you'll be on site.
The mess will also need names of those who will be eating meals. $5 per meal - money in advance. Or you can fend for yourself.

AA Week update
I was up at Ft Bragg today making a little coordination.
Post Security
1. Made contact with Captain P about access. Pretty much the same as last time. I'll do up a memorandum and he'll send a letter to the Visitor's Center at the All American Expressway about our trailers.
2. Will need those hauling closed trailers - Darrell, Louis and Bradd - to PM/Message/Text me your make, model, year, color and license number for the truck and make, color and license number for the trailer. This will speed things up a bit at the Visitor's Center. Also be prepared to open one door and let the guards take a peek.
3. A list of who is attending would nice.
4. As per Captain P Covid procedures and mask use is up in the air.
Museum
1. Pretty much the same as last time. Row of tents with the flies in front. Squad Tent will be at the end of the line and then if we need more fly space we'll break 90 degrees and head out to Ardennes Street.
2. We'll have access to the showers in the Hall of Heros. One shower each in the Men's and Women's bathrooms.
3. We've put in for the conference room in the Hall of Heros. If we get it we'll be able to put up cots in there and sleep with A/C. If not - we have to tough it outside.
4. The CO will have to sign for the keys and will have them on him.
5. We have permission to move the two guns to the FA fly and display.
6. There is water and an electric outlet at the back right of the building. There are electric outlets at the reviewing stand and pole (left front). Not sure if they work or not.
7. As I walked past the Cushman I think I heard it say "Where's Chief and Ben?"

Thank you Jim for getting everything setup as always and we will not setup in front of that monument, I do not want to move tents or flies, like we did the last time, you remember they told us to setup there, then the big man got there and we had to move, see you there Bro. Ralph

We will have WW II 508th PIR veteran Gene Metcalfe on site with us throughout the week. His daughter has contacted me about them joining us around camp to mingle. His family will be there for the whole week flying in on Sunday. They are staying with Gen. Gavin's family. Here is Gene's book as well "Left for Dead at Nijmegen: The True Story of an American Paratrooper in World War II". Make sure your boots shined lol!! As it gets closer I will advise on more information on what days he wants to join us at Camp!

I'll bring my mock chute that is loaded with WWII paratrooper signatures for him to add his credentials!!
