AAR Enfield Mess Situation
It sucked. So cold the gas lantern would not work, the Angry Red Planet heater croaked, and the generator for coffee wouldn’t crank. The cook’s tent was full of LP gas cylinders trying to keep them warm. Also had to put the generator in with the LP gas cylinders.
Canned beans were frozen in the can, meat was frozen hard, and your fingers became ice cubes in a couple of minutes. Coffee got cold pronto.
Had a miserable time.

But the Chili was great - both bowls of it.

As miserable as the weather made it for the cooks/assistants and despite the intense - for that part of the state - cold, the food was plentiful, good and warming. Thanks to the mess crew for your efforts. You are appreciated.

Sorry over estimated numbers but if the weather had been better who knows. As always you came though.
Again, I heard nothing but kudos on the food.
